Mounting and installation instructions

The slide bearings consist of a base plate, a sliding-pad and a counter plate with polished stainless steel. In case we did not supply the counter plate you have to provide a counter plate, according to our guidelines.

Packing and storage:
The sliding bearings are packed in such way that the sliding/pad is fully covered and secured. Keep the bearings in the original packing. Keep the sliding/pad covered and secured during storage and handling.

Mounting:
The top and bottom part of your construction should be installed in parallel planes. This to ensure that the load is transferred over the complete contact area. In case an angular displacement is expected one should use cup shaped bearings. The top and bottom part of your construction should be rigid enough to avoid bending of the bearing.

Place the bearing in the right position and ensure that the sliding-pad is covered by the counter plate at all operational conditions. The counter plate (plate with the biggest size) must always be on top.

Fixation of the base plate and the counter plate should be by tack welding or bolting (depending of the type). In case the plates are fully welded the temperature at the PTFE sliding-pad may not exceed 250°C. If necessary the welding should be done in steps. Ensure that the sliding-pad is completely covered by the counter plate. (contact over the complete surface)  This to ensure that the load is transferred over the complete contact area. Protect the sliding element and the stainless steel plate against weld spatter.

In case the bearings are used upside down or in a vertical position one must ensure that the sliding-pad can not fall out of the base plate. So keep the sliding-pad secured during handling or order an execution with sliding-pads that are secured to the base plate by a screw.

The CORE sliding bearings are maintenance free.

However it is of importance that de bearings are installed in the right way and that the sliding-pad and stainless steel plate are kept free from dirt and debris.
